Welcome to our monthly show recommendations for April 2026 brought to you by Valerie Lopez and Sam Peirce.
April is Comedy Christmas month as Moontower Comedy Festival lands downtown.

Moontower Comedy Festival takes over the comedy stages all over downtown Austin. Catch shows as far away as Cap City Comedy Club for exclusive headliner shows, then spend the rest of the fest downtown. Paramount Theater and The State Theater will play host to headliners and other big performances. For the club shows the last weekend of the fest, you'll find most of the shows at Rozco's, Fallout Theater, Sunset Strip, The Velveeta Room, The Creek and Cave, and Vulcan Gas Company. A few non-traditional comedy venues also host club show events: Higbies and Antone's Nightclub.
April 7 kicks off the Headliner experience at Paramount Theater, State Theater, and Cap City Comedy Club with shows that run until Saturday night April 18 with the legendary Albert Brooks at 7:00pm and Sarah Sherman and Meg Stalter at 9:30pm closing out the fest.
Starting Wednesday April 15 and running through Saturday April 18th, you can watch all the club shows if you get an all access badge. And why wouldn't you? Each night you have your choice of 15+ shows. We'll see you there! Say hi!

ColdTowne is holding an all-ages event April 11-12. The youth improv program at ColdTowne is one of the best in town and now you can catch a presumably G-rated improv festival with 0% guilt.
